Will George W be at Ellen and Portia's Wedding? Jenna and Laura Bush Might Be!

A few months ago, Portia de Rossi  gave lover Ellen DeGeneres a Tiffany wedding band as a symbol of her devotion to the comedienne--and bought herself a matching ring.  A few weeks ago, when the Supreme Court ruled gays could marry in the state of California, Ellen and Portia said they would marry in June!

The couple are now planning a lavish ceremony for friends and family at their California home.
HOWEVER - YESTERDAY, Jenna Bush Hager invited Ellen  and Portia  to tie the knot at the Bush family homestead in Crawford, Texas!

During a taped appearance on Ellen, Jenna Bush Hager appeared with mom Laura Bush, and  extended an invitation to Ellen  to have her wedding to long time love, Portia, at the famed Bush ranch. Surely Jenna was joking, but I can imagine few things funnier than George W. Bush presiding over the nuptials of Ellen and Portia !

Ellen DeGeneres told Jenna, “The ranch was a great place to get married. It looked like nobody could fly over and get pictures or bother you, really!”  - Jenna agreed with Ellen, to which DeGeneres then replied, “Okay, great.” Well then we guess it’s settled. Right, Mr. President?

Jenna’s offer to Ellen comes shortly after John McCain’s appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", during which Ellen and McCain clashed on their stances on gay marriage. During McCain’s appearance he told Ellen DeGeneres, "I just believe in the unique status of marriage between man and woman,” He continued carefully, "And I know that we have a respectful disagreement on that issue."

Ellen in turn told McCain, “You're no different than I am. Our love is the same." The conversation ended politely (if not more than a little awkwardly), with the two agreeing to disagree. We’re glad that Jenna sees it Ellen’s way, because we’d like to see George Bush use the public speaking skills he’s honed as president to give the ladies a lovely wedding toast!
