Miley Cyrus’ Disneyland Birthday Bash Clashes With 11th Annual Gay Days Anaheim

Our sincerest thanks to the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau for showing us an amazing 4 days in California this past weekend for the 11th Annual GAY DAYS ANAHEIM.  We'll publish a special series this week on Anaheim - Orange County highlighting our trip's weekend events.

We couldn't miss sharing this presumable oversight on someone’s part!  On Sunday, October 5, Miley Cyrus, the “Hannah Montana” star, celebrated her Sweet 16 birthday (even though she will not turn sweet 16 until November 23) with 5,000 of her closest fans (at $250 a pop for a ticket) coinciding with the last day of the park’s annual unofficial Gay Days Anaheim, which draws 30,000 gay and lesbian visitors dressed in red (even super hottie Reichen Lehmkuhl) to the Happiest Place on Earth every fall.

In order to accommodate both groups, the park closed at 5 p.m. Sunday to guests not attending the Cyrus party and then to make up for it, Disneyland accommodated Gay Days' guests after 5 p.m. at its sister park, Disney’s California Adventure, which extended its hours until 11 p.m.

The teen Queen performed 4 songs from her albums amidst a fireworks display above the Sleeping Beauty Castle with 16 giant inflatable candles. Miley was wearing an ivory-colored silver studded dress, and a white button-up vest/skirt combo.

Partygoers ogled celebrities roaming around the park throughout the party. David Archuleta and his entourage skipped the line to ride Space Mountain. Jennie Garth and her family ducked out before the fireworks display capping the celebration. Other stars in attendance included Steve Carell, Cindy Crawford, Vanessa Williams, Tyra Banks and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Miley looked more than happy while addressing the press. Miley said, “My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I’m good for a while.”
